Understanding ADASCOM: Our Mission to Prevent Childhood Diabetes
Our Mission
ADASCOM: We empower children to practice a healthy lifestyle through a combination of education and outreach. We work with the community to foster healthy pathways. Through our platform, kids will reduce their risk factors for early onset Type 2 diabetes and other associated conditions and set a foundation for healthy living.

Sid Kurkure
Founder of ADASCOM
I have an educational background in computational biology, genomics and computer science. When I was a teenager, a close family member was diagnosed with diabetes. After observing his struggles with the disease, I became curious and started reading about diabetes. I learned that it was a lifelong disease that often runs in families. Therefore, early education in youth is key. As I could not find organizations that were specifically geared towards this mission I chose to start my own non-profit, ADASCOM: Averting Diabetes, A Silent Catalyst Of Maladies. ADASCOM will empower children to practice a healthy lifestyle and educate parents and communities about early onset Type 2 diabetes. The objective is to reduce the risk factors for early onset diabetes, and other conditions that result from or are associated with diabetes. I am delighted to have this platform to connect with and educate youth.
