Types of Exercises that we need:
CDC recommends aerobics (to get our heart rate up), muscle-strengthening activities, and bone-strengthening activities.
Types of Aerobics:
  • Walking
  • Running
  • Dancing
  • Biking
  • Anything that gets the heart rate up
 
Bone-strengthening: include bone strengthening exercises 3 times a week
Types of Bone-Strengthening Exercises:
  • Jumping rope (and variations such as double-dutch)
  • Running
  • Sports that involve jumping or rapid changes in direction
 
Muscle-strengthening: include bone strengthening exercises 3 times a week
Types of Muscle-Strengthening Exercises
  • Tug of war
  • Resistance exercises with bands
  • Weight training for teenagers only (check with your doctor)
